Elaine Equi is the author of many books, including Surface Tension, Decoy, and most recently, Voice-Over, which won the 1998 San Francisco State Poetry Award. Her work has also been widely anthologized and appears in such places as The Best American Poetry 1989, The Best American Poetry 1995 and A Norton Anthology of Postmodern American Poetry. She lives in New York City with her husband, poet Jerome Sala, and teaches at The New School, The Writer’s Voice, and in the graduate program at City College. She is also a senior editor at Conjunctions.
