Charles Bernstein

Charles Bernstein is the author of twenty books of poetry, including Republics of Reality: Poems 1975-1995 (Sun & Moon Press, in press, l997); Little Orphan Anagram, with Susan Bee (Granary Books, 1997); Dark City (Sun & Moon, 1994); Rough Trades (Sun & Moon, 1991); The Sophist (Sun & Moon, 1987); Islets/Irritations (Roof Books, 1992/1983); Controlling Interests (New York: Roof, 1980). He has published two books of essays: A Poetics (Harvard University Press, 1992) and Content’s Dream: Essays 1975-1984 (Sun & Moon Press, 1986). Bernstein is editor of The Politics of Poetic Form: Poetry and Public Policy (New York: Roof Books, 1990) and Live at the Ear (Pittsburgh: Elemenope Productions, 1994), an audio poetry anthology. Forthcoming from Oxford is Close Listening: Poetry and the Performed Word. He is host and co-producer of LINEbreak, a radio poetry series. With Bruce Andrews, he edited L=A=N=G=U=A=G=E.
