Anne Carson

Anne Carson teaches classics at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Her books of poetry include Plainwater (Knopf, 1995) and Glass, Irony and God (New Directions, 1995). Her poem “Jaget” received a 1996 Pushcart Prize and her book Autobiography of Red was published in 1998 by Knopf. Anne Carson’s other titles include Eros the Bittersweet (Princeton University Press, 1986); Short Talks (Brick Books, 1992); and Sophokles Elektra: Translation With Commentary and Notes (Knopf, 1997). Anne Carson recently received a Lannan Literary Award.
