Lawrence Joseph

Lawrence Joseph's most recent book of poetry, Before Our Eyes, was published by Farrar, Straus & Giroux in 1993. He has published two previous books of poems; Shouting at No One, which received the 1982 Starrett Poetry Prize and appeared in the Pitt Poetry Series in 1983; and Curriculum Vitae, which was published in the Pitt Poetry Series in 1988. Lawyerland, a book of nonfiction, was published by Farrar, Straus & Giroux in 1997. His honors include two National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships, a Hopwood Award for poetry, and a fellowship for study at Cambridge University. He has taught creative writing at Princeton University and is a Professor of Law at St. John's University School of Law. Lawrence Joseph lives in New York City.
