Anne Carson

Anne Carson teaches classics at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Her books of poetry include Men in the Off Hours (Knopf, 2000), Economy of the Unlost (Princeton University Press, 1999), and Plainwater (Knopf, 1995). She is working on an opera entitled Decreation.


Bei Dao

Bei Dao's most recent collection Unlock (New Directions, 2000) presents forty-nine poems written in the United States. Other publications include Old Snow (New Directions, 1991) and Forms of Distance (New Directions, 1995). He has been in exile from his native China since the Tiananmen Square massacre of 1989.
