Shannon Ebner



Shannon Ebner's project, commissioned by Dia for its series of Artists' Projects for the Web, will launch here April 12, 2012.

An opening reception will be held at Dia:Chelsea at 535 West 22nd Street, New York City, from 6 - 8pm on April 12th.

Bio
Shannon Ebner was born in 1971 in Englewood, New Jersey, and received her Masters of Fine Arts in 2000 from Yale Universtiy School of Art. Since her inaugural show at Margo Victor Presents, Los Angeles (2003), she has had solo exhibitions at Wallspace, New York (2005); the Rockefeller Plaza, New York (2006); P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center, Long Island City, NY (2007); Altman Siegel Gallery, San Francisco (2010); and LAXART, Los Angeles (2011). She has participated in the Venice Biennale (2011); the 6th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art (2010); the Whitney Biennial, New York (2008); and The California Biennial, Orange County (2006). Her work has been included in group exhibitions at venues such as Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, MN (2011); Museum of Art, Bard College, NY (2010); Gagosian Gallery, New York (2008); Aspen Art Museum, Colorado (2008); Tate Modern, London (2007); Creative Time, New York (2005); and LACE, Los Angeles (2004). She also participated in the traveling exhibition Uncertain States of America: American Art in the 3rd Millennium, curated by Daniel Birnbaum, Gunnar B. Kvaran, and Hans Ulrich Obrist (2006-2007). Additionally, she co-curated the photography exhibition Blow Both of Us, with artist Adam Putnam, at Participant, Inc, New York (2007). She now lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
